COVID-19 Response

Your safety is our top priority here at Brandeis Dining Services. We are closely monitoring COVID-19 guidelines directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, federal, state and local officials to make sure we are bringing you the most up-to-date information as we continue to navigate through the pandemic this spring semester. Our team has worked diligently to implement robust policies and procedures aimed at keeping the entire Brandeis Community safe while on campus and in our dining locations.

Students required to quarantine share their dietary preferences and restrictions including identifying kosher prior to arrival through the MyHousing portal.  These dietary preferences and restrictions can also be confirmed at check-in.  Any student in quarantine who has identified as keeping kosher will receive delivered meals for Shabbat.  Should the student have questions or concerns, they may contact the Campus Card Office at or call the Dining telephone hotline at 781-736-4345.

Absolutely. We continue to remain committed to providing safe, allergen-free meals on campus through our Simple Servings station in both Dining Halls and the My Zone pantry. Grab and go options in retail will also take into consideration vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free needs. Learn more about nutrition on campus and contact our Dining Services Dietitian, Karen Jew, if you have any additional questions.
Eliminating plates and cutlery helps reduce potential touch points in the Dining Hall that could transmit the virus. The dining team will serve your meal into a single use compostable/recyclable container with a packaged set of cutlery and napkins. You will then be able to take your meal to go and help support social distancing in the dining spaces.
The single use containers provided to you for to-go dining on campus are compostable or recyclable. Please dispose of them in the proper bins on campus to help ensure their ability to be composted and/or recycled. Read the Guide to Take-Out Packaging to learn more.
